In a certain period of time, Leonardo DiCaprio was more famous for not getting Oscar than most of the awarded actors for actually getting it. Once upon a hollywood cast. The pathos of this character is actually quite fascinating, and something that doesn't get explored enough in movies (probably because it's not all that sexy. At the core of Rick Dalton is just a profound desire to do well. At first, his career aspiration seems to be all about vanity (and perhaps it is to a degree) but once we actually get to set with him, it becomes clear how much he genuinely cares about doing a great job, even for a little bit part on a random show. That's a very universal struggle - wanting to do a good job, beating yourself up when you don't perform as well as you could, and using that fire to perform better next time. It's quietly inspiring.

It is the usual high quality production, direction and quirkiness (if its not a word then it should be) that we know and love from Tarantino. Oozes class and nostalgia. Wonderfully acted by a top line up across the board.
